The Narconon
® drug rehabilitation
program is a non-traditional program with over 70% of Narconon program
graduates remaining drug-free two years after program completion.
The Narconon program, based on
techniques and methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard, was started in 1966 in
Arizona State Prison by William Benitez, a sixteen-year heroin
addict and inmate who wanted to get and stay clean once and for all. The
remarkable success of the program at rehabilitating hard-core criminal drug
addicts led Benitez, after his release in 1967, to improve the Narconon
program and begin offering it to the general public.
This website traces the history of the
Narconon program from its beginnings to its initial public debut.
The Narconon® program handles all types
of drug addictions: heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription medications
and alcohol. The Narconon program is not a 12-step program; we beleive that an
individual is not powerless, and, in fact, must take responsibility for his or
her own actions. There is extensive scientific documentation which proves the
efficacy of the Narconon program which can be viewed on our flagship website
http://www.stopaddiction.com/index.html
or by clicking
here.
The Narconon
drug rehabilitation program is based on the writings and research of author and
humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, who spent many years investigating the causes of,
and cures for, drug addiction. The philosophy of the Narconon program is best
explained by an article entitled
The Life Cycle and
Mechanics of Addiction, written by Gary W. Smith, the Executive Director of
Narconon Arrowhead. Narconon Arrowhead also has a number of websites dedicated
to educating the public about the dangers of many drugs, including: heroin cocaine methamphetamine ecstasy marijuana and prescription
drugs such as methadone and
anti-depressants
The real
effectiveness of the Narconon program, however, is communicated best by the
successes of its graduates. Some success stories can be viewed
here.
Drug addiction and alcoholism CAN be
overcome. The Narconon® program can help.
